Six Ways to Utilize Your Garden Shed in Time for the Summer

Summer is just round the corner, and for most of us that means a break in the frigid monotony of icy cold mornings and a move to sun-soaked afternoons spent relaxing in the yard. Too many of us though aren’t making the most of our outdoor spaces, so we’re here to tell how to do just that by making the most of your garden shed, so its perfect for those warm summer days and even better for the summer evenings.

Read on to find out six great ways that you can use your trusty garden shed to ensure you and your family have a summer to remember.

Turn it Into a She Shed

We’ve all heard of a man cave, but relatively few of us are au fait with the term she shed, but this summer could be the year that all changes. A relatively new concept, she sheds are small outdoor spaces usually designed through a  she shed kit or repurposed old sheds, that are specifically designed for the woman of the house as a space to go and relax, away from the stresses of daily life.

What that space looks like and what you do in it is completely up to you.

Shed/Kid’s Playroom

There’s nothing worse than sitting in a sweltering house during the summer with a frustrated toddler, but that’s a reality for many. Sadly there are only so many soft plays and adventure days that one parent can go on.

Fear not though, this summer you could turn your shed into a kid’s playroom and sit an relax in the garden, soaking up the ways whilst the kids entertain themselves – to the extent that toddler’s actually do that!

Use it as a Storage Area

This is the boring but practical tip – use your shed for the purpose that it was designed for, storage. With a couple of months prep time you could tidy up your yard and declutter your outdoor spaces by using your shed properly.

That will give you peace of mind and pride in your garden area, so you can sit back and comfortably relax in it over the summer months.

Get Physical

You can either use a commercial gym where you have to go at specific times to avoid the rush, or pay a huge fee to join a fancy, exclusive gym with plenty of equipment and discerning clientele. Unfortunately there is no in-between when it comes to the fitness world.

If you own a shed though you can make that in-between for yourself by transforming it into a home gym. You don’t need stacks and stacks of equipment to get started, just enough to cover your training routine.

Having the gym in the back garden also makes it a lot harder to skip on!

Outdoor Entertainment

How cool would it be to put a huge sofa and projector into your shed and sit there in the warm, sultry summer evenings watching your favourite movies? Well it needn’t be a pipe dream, getting electric in your shed is relatively straightforward and after that all you have to do is get a couch and a projector in there. What’s stopping you?

Turn Your Shed into a Meeting Area

Keeping in touch with friends gets so much harder when you have kids. Not only are you exhausted all the time, but you’re also worried about making your money stretch as far as possible. Turning your shed into a meeting area allows you to kill both of those birds with one stone.

Over the summer you could save time and effort by inviting your friends round for games evenings or even just a few drinks in your converted shed area. It gives you your own private area and it can also be turned into a cheeky outdoor bar for those warm summer nights or celebrations.

What will you transform your shed into this summer?
