Are you living city life? Enjoying your day-to-day in the heart of a large city while staying on top of all the latest events and gatherings? While living in the city is fantastic for those looking to make the most out of their day-to-day, it does come with a small caveat we can all agree on space.
The fact is that modern life often takes place in small spaces. Modern living has increased in cost, and while some loss of space won't ruin your experience, it presents certain challenges in home entertainment. After all, getting a traditional large screen to fit your current apartment might not be that easy.
It would be best if you didn't have to settle for watching your favorite movies on a small monitor screen. But it is undeniable that a large and inflexible TV screen isn't an alternative for most living spaces in modern-day life.
So what can you do if you don't want to sacrifice your enjoyment of TV and Cinema but physically can't get a giant screen in any of your rooms? That's where portable projectors come in.
After all, portable small projectors take next to no space on their own but can work with huge screens that can also be stored when not in use. Projectors provide a way to enjoy the widescreen experience without needing a permanent display setup. And since so many modern models are wireless, you can set up a viewing session in minutes.
In short, portable projectors have portable projectors, whether you are a student living in a smaller residential place, a professional looking for a device that works both for entertainment and official presentations, or even a parent looking for a practical movie setup for your whole family something to offer. So with that in mind, we want to take a closer look at why portable projectors are better than TVs and Monitors.
When do you need a portable projector?
As mentioned above, portable projectors are perfect for anybody with space concerns in their living arrangements. College students are a great example of an audience that can make the most out of projectors. Most students barely have room for their belongings, so getting a large screen is not an option. However, a projector allows them to set up for a movie night almost anywhere, providing hours of entertainment and a reliable tool for presentations if they ever need to make one.
People who live in downtown areas and single people will likely face a similar situation as the above. The smaller your apartment is, the more space becomes a premium, and sacrificing functional space just for a TV can be challenging. On the flip side, a projector and screen combo can be used only when needed and can be easily set aside when not in use. This means that your use of space will be dynamic, and you will have more room for your day-to-day activities. However, even parents in a larger house can use projectors, for example, to get an entertainment solution in their kid's playroom.
The central aspect you should consider when it comes to portable projectors is their mini-max nature. But what do we mean by this? In short, projectors take next to no space (hence mini) but can maximize their projection area (hence max). On the other hand, TVs have a fixed size, and there's no way to reduce the space they take.
Last but not least, projectors are great for turning movies and TV into an actual cinematic experience. The larger screen area, coupled with the ambient they generate, means you'll be able to host movie events and change the way you and your friends interact with movies.
The Pros and Cons of portable projectors
Let's go over the specific pros and cons of projectors compared to TVs, shall we? That way, it'll be even easier to make a choice when it comes to your new entertainment setup.
TVs don't come cheap, especially large ones. A large TV will always come with a large price tag; unfortunately, a large size is something you can't do anything about. On its own, this might not be a con for you, but if space is reduced, any decently sized TV can become a problem, and similarly, if your lifestyle means you are moving every few years, then moving that TV will become a significant challenge.
Monitors are also not much of a consideration in this case. The price of large monitors increases so much that you would be better off getting a TV at that point. And small ones are just not good for a proper viewing experience. If there are no better options, you might watch 1 or 2 episodes of your favorite Netflix show on a 13" monitor, but that's not a real entertainment solution.
Portable projectors, on the other hand, offer many technologies and functions in a very compact package. We are talking about HD and UHD quality, built-in speakers, and wireless capabilities. In other words, you can stream anything from your phone and use your projector just like a Smart TV. With the added advantage that they are so small, they can fit on your backpack, and you won't notice they are there.
Are projectors cheap per se? It depends on how you look at it and what model you are looking for. Some models can go well above $5k. But you can also get excellent quality projectors in the $300 to $2000 range, meaning that you can make an ideal setup for less than a high-end TV would cost you. And on top of all of the above, they'll also save you electricity in the long run.
What else should you consider?
Always keep a projector's dimensions in mind; after all, we aim to save space here. However, this doesn't mean you should give up on connectivity, as you should be able to find a good projector that offers both functionality and portability if you look around.
And last but not least, pick up something that fits your style. Modern projectors are so sleek that they can become part of your home design, which is just the cherry on top of everything else they offer.
