Stay and Play
Resorts that offer stay and play packages include JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, which hosts the Palm and Valley courses; Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa, a Gary Player and Pete Dye course, and the Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa, which boasts 27 holes. Hyatt and Esmeralda hotel guests can play the Players and the Celebrity courses at the Indian Wells Resort. La Quinta Resort & Club guests play either the Mountain or Dunes courses.

Public Play Golf Courses
Desert Willow in Palm Desert, with its two testing layouts, the Firecliff and the Mountain. Palm Springs has three public courses that offer outstanding golf with mountain views: Indian Canyons Resort allows you to play both the North and South courses, Cimarron Golf Resort boasts a Long and a Short course, and Escena Golf Club has a Jack Nicklaus design with some of the best mountain views in the valley. Just off Interstate 10 in Palm Desert is the Classic Club, a desert gem that was the home course to the Bob Hope Classic for three years.

Travel further east to La Quinta (review here) and the courses of PGA WEST wait with classic designs by the likes of Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Weiskopf and Greg Norman.
Before or after golf, there is plenty to do, both in the sunshine and after dark. Some of the top entertainers come to town during the winter season and the shopping is second to none. It’s a world-class golf destination, just over the hills.
