Are you new to the luxury auto scene? If so, there's no reason to blow a gasket; San Diego is the perfect place to find the 2010 luxury auto of your dreams. The choices are broad; the auto makers both classic and new; but whatever your preference, you're sure to find luxury, performance, and a good old-fashioned thrill along the way.
If you're serious about racing and luxury combined, Symbolic Motor Car Company of San Diego was the place to go and still is. Symbolic has a new owner O’Gara Coach - La Jolla. They are the proud home of classic and racing Ferraris and showcase some of the most celebrated symbolic and exotic automobiles. “Bentley and Lambo are our two bestsellers, especially the classic, vintage and collectables,” says Rick Amata, Contemporary Sales Marketing Manager at Symbolic Motor Car Company of San Diego. According to Rick Amata, clients ask to see the Lamborghini Reventon or Bugatti Veyron. “We have classic and vintage races all over the world where people can enter these cars or seek out other cars that meet the parameters. It is historic or prestigious to run in these races,” says Amata.
Not everyone is into competitive racing, but most people have a natural affinity for luxury and performance. If you're looking for the number one elite dealer, Lexus is a wise choice. The new hybrid HS250h is the first luxury mid-sized hybrid in its class, and check out these features: “It allows you to check stocks, track sports scores, monitor energy and preview weather all at once. It has a wide-view mirror that lets you see a one hundred and ninety degree view, which is almost as good as having eyes in the back of your head,” boasts Doyle Lacount, Salesman at Lexus Kearny Mesa. Others consider the IS250 two-door sport coupe convertible more exciting. “Imagine driving with the top down in southern California," says LaCount. "It transforms from a sleek coupe to a striking convertible in just twenty-one seconds. Even with your trunk down, you can fit your golf bag and still have room to spare,” he says. The newly redesigned LX570 is their largest SUV for 2010. Another reason to choose Lexus? JD Powers has rated Lexus as the most reliable car for the past fifteen years. And according to LaCount, nine out of ten people that buy a Lexus will buy another one; talk about brand loyalty and satisfaction.
When it comes to pure luxury, some things never change, as witnessed by the recent renewed interest in Bentleys, especially the Continental GP and Continental Flying Spur, which is a four door Sedan. “It is the epitome of power with purpose. It has the torque curve that makes Bentleys such a thrill to drive,” describes Nick Deer of Jake’s Motorcars. On its tail is Mercedes Benz of San Diego, who are also on the upswing and thrilled to offer the all new 2010 E-class Benz that soars down the road with expanded safety features.
For some car enthusiasts, owning a luxury vehicle is just the first step in creating a luxury auto lifestyle, which many people seek. You can let your car drive your social life by joining a luxury auto club. “I have a 1989 original BMW M3 but have met members in the BMW Car Club of America who have the next generation E36M3, E46M3 and current M3," says Mike Turpen, President of BMW Car Club of America – San Diego Chapter. "We have just about every model that BMW has produced in the last twenty years in our club,” he says.
Buying a luxury auto is not only an expensive decision, but a very personal one. Metaphorically-speaking, cars are an extension of one's personality and become a member of one's family. Therefore, it's a good idea to try a few cars before making a final decision. Elai Malikyar of San Diego Prestige rental company couldn't agree more. Says Elai, “We are the only exotic, luxury and high end car and yacht rental company in San Diego. The two door red with beige interior Ferrari California has been a big hit. The sound and roar of the Spider catches everybody’s attention when roaming through the streets. It is a yellow sports car and the most popular ever,” says Malikyar. The 2010 Porsche Carrera S911 sports car that seats four was just added. Some of these reputable car makers have mile-long wait lists with clients who are awaiting these new 2010 arrivals with great anticipation.
So, whether you're a seasoned car aficionado or a newcomer to the scene, there's a place to fit in on the racetrack of life in the luxury fast lane. Happy travels.
